We evacuated from Ike by plane on Thursday
September 11. We returned on Friday September 19 to find extensive
damage to our original greenhouse. We were lucky to have power return on
the 18th. Our next door neighbor didn't get power till the 22nd. There
were plants scattered from the benches to the floor. Amazing how clay
pots want to break when they land on concrete! More than half of the
roof was missing from the structure resulting in a lot of sunburn to the
plants. We had more heat/sun burn in the new greenhouse than the old.
This probably was due to lack of ventilation there whereas we had
natural cooling in the old unit. WE ARE STILL IN BUSINESS AND READY TO
SERVE YOU. We will only sell and ship QUALITY plants, not those with the
nice white or tan leaves from the sunburn. If you order and we only have
some with minor sunburn we will offer them to you at a HUGE DISCOUNT. We have erected shade cloth
over the entire old greenhouse and will replace the fiberglass with
corrugated polycarbonate.
