We give orchid classes frequently at Clown Alley Orchids. The schedule is affected by orchid shows, sales, and family conflicts and that is why it is irregular. We change the content of the classes to meet the needs of the students based on class comment sheets we hand out at the beginning of each class. Some of the classes are on weekday evenings, others Saturday afternoon. We try to rate these classes as basic or intermediate level. A basic level orchid class is intended to introduce the students to orchid basics, especially beginning orchid culture. The intermediate level gets into more detail about a group of orchid plants. In the intermediate level you learn more about the major species in the group as well as hybrids and how to grow them. For historical information we show some classes already given. Each class is scheduled for 60 to 90 minutes and includes lots of questions and answers throughout. We provide a copy of the notes at the beginning of each class. Light refreshments or drinks provided. The next few available classes are highlighted with a yellow background. All classes at the greenhouse cost $10. You receive a starter plant at completion of the class. You are encouraged to bring in orchid plants you want to show off or have questions about.
We are repeating our beginner classes in January for all those that missed it before. We also travel to give talks. Click speaker for details.
